Genesis 2:18-25

Genesis 2:18-25
“The LORD God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.” Now the LORD God had formed out of the ground all the beasts of the field and all the birds of the air. He brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name. So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds of the air and all the beasts of the field. But for Adam no suitable helper was found. So the LORD God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man’s ribs and closed up the place with flesh. Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. The man said, “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman,’ for she was taken out of man.” For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh. The man and his wife were both naked, and they felt no shame.”

6 Keys To Building A Great Marriage
1. Learning To Communicate.
“Reliable communication permits progress.” Proverbs 13:17 (LB)

“Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.” Ephesians 4:29 (KJV)

“But let your word ‘yes’ be ‘yes,’ and your ‘no’ be ‘no.’ Anything more than this is from the evil one.” Matthew 5:37 (HCSB)

2. Learning To Be Considerate.
“You must learn to be considerate of one another, cultivating a life in common.” 1 Corinthians 1:10b (MSG)

“Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect as the weaker partner and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers.” 1 Peters 3:7 (NIV)

“We must bear the “burden” of being considerate of the doubts and
fears of others…We should help others do what is right and build them up in the Lord.” Romans 15:1-2 (LB & TEV)

“Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.” Colossians 3:13 (NLT)

3. Learning How To Compromise.
“If a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.” Mark 3:25 (KJV)

“People who do not get along with others are interested only in themselves…” Proverbs 18:1a (TEV)

“Love does not demand its own way.” 1 Corinthians 13:5b (LB)

“May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus.” Romans 15:5 (NIV)

4. Learning The Art Of Contact.
“The husband should fulfill his wife’s sexual needs, and the wife should fulfill her husband’s needs.” 1 Corinthians 7:3 (NLT)

“There’s more to sex than mere skin on skin. Sex is as much spiritual mystery as physical fact. As written in Scripture, “The two become one.” 1 Corinthians 6:16 (MSG)

“Let your wife be a fountain of blessing for you. Rejoice in the wife of your youth. She is a loving deer, a graceful doe. Let her breasts satisfy you always. May you always be captivated by her love.” Proverbs 5:18-19 (NLT)

5. Learning To Keep My Commitment.
“I hate divorce,” says the Lord God of Israel. “I hate it when one of you does such a cruel thing to his wife. Make sure that you do not break your promise to be faithful to your wife.” Malachi 2:16 (TEV)

6. Learning To Lean On Christ.
“God’s secret…is Christ Himself. He is the key that opens all the hidden treasures of God’s wisdom and knowledge.” Colossians 2:2b-3 (TEV)

“He will be the sure foundation for your times, a rich store of salvation and wisdom and knowledge; the fear of the LORD is the key to this treasure.” Isaiah 33:6 (NIV)

Communication is the Key to Great Sex

2 Communication is the Key to Great Sex“What is great sex? A couple who has figured out a way of reaching mutual satisfaction, lying back, loving and enjoying themselves, those wonderful endorphins and those great feelings that one has after that,” says Kim Marshall, author of The Great Sex Secret.
Time and again, couples meet and rush into a passionate sexual relationship. They are excited about each other and their new relationship, but do not take the time to discover what sexually stimulates each of them.
This type of sexual relationship is great in the beginning, but the excitement can start to fade after a few years. A sexual relationship has to be kept alive, not by but by working at it and figuring out ways that will be gratifying for both partners.
There is no one right way or wrong way. Every couple is different and needs to be honest enough with each other to keep the sexual fires burning. Set aside time for each other every week, knowing that sex will happen. Be patient, sensitive to each other’s needs, and talk about what pleases you.
Great sex consists of communication and tenderness. It involves finding someone you love, discussing what your partner enjoys sexually, and taking the time to stimulate and excite one another. Finding out what works for both of you will lead to a sexually healthy relationship that will last for years to come.
